Birch Creek Waste Water Treatment Facility Upgrades

This $2.1M project is located on 25 acres within a State Park consisting of new water treatment system with a natural lagoon treatment.  Project consists of constructing a Facultative Lagoon, two (2) stabilization ponds, and one (1) irrigation pond with amended soil liners with permanent erosion control measures.  This project includes tie-ins to existing force mains routed to the new natural lagoon treatment system, new irrigation fields, and multiple man holes, T-Valve Manholes, and a large irrigation and recirculation pump station for proper treatment, and security fencing around the plant.  Scope of work included demolition and removal of existing 40 year old package treatment plant with removal of existing sediment lagoons, including necessary soil abatement measures.  New treatment system includes new 3-phase power to the site with related power equipment and controls for a fully operational water treatment system. G2 is currently replacing internal components within nine of the eleven existing pump stations throughout the park with new pump control modules to feed the treatment plant.  Jamison currently acts as the Project Manager on the project.

Lightner Creek Bridge

Durango Colorado

$240,000 CM/GC delivery where G2 Contractors took the lead to hire a structural engineer, civil engineer, and bridge engineer. G2 was contracted directly to perform pre-construction services for all aspects of the project, including coordination with the Army Corp of Engineers and La Plata County Floodplain requirements. Project consists of 300 linear feet of drive on steep slopes in conjunction with a 38’ x 12’ pre-engineered Steadfast Vehicular bridge by Contech Engineered Solutions with a concrete deck and guardrails.  Upon negotiation of pricing, G2 Contractors entered into a lump sum agreement to construct the bridge, drive, retaining walls, and abutments. G2 was hired due to its experience with difficult projects with this specific project having a high degree of difficulty due to steep mountainous terrain involving a drainage area and limited accessibility. Jamison is currently acting as both Project Manager and Superintendent on this project due to its level of difficulty.

US Forest Service

Hermosa Creek Restoration

The project included 100+ boulders for bank stabilization and instream habitat improvement. The bank revetment work entailed keying in boulders into the stream bed, and stacking 2 to 3 courses of boulders to ensure the revetment higher than that of flood stage levels. The bank revetment was backfilled with excavated material from the stream bed. The angle of repose from the flood plain to the top course of boulders was approx. 3:1 when complete. The instream fish habitat structures included cross-vanes, vortex weirs, offset J-hook structures, and boulder clusters constructed of rocks that were set at a grade so they can effectively scour pools below the structure and effectively mobilize fine sediment during high flows of the creek. Spacing was spread out far enough to ensure sufficient grade upstream of each structure to prevent deposition of fine material. Each structure was keyed into the bank revetment, and placed on footer rocks installed in the stream bed to ensure longevity and proper function. Structures were placed at angles that prevented excessive pressure on the banks of the stream. Work at the Middle East Fork Site included diverting water using an instream structure from multiple channels into the largest channel to increase the efficacy of the instream structures in this stream reach. Jamison was on-site throughout the entire project and acted as the Project Manager on the project.
